Okay now that I've got your hopes up... it's more socks!
This prehistoric colourway from Vesper Sock is called Zoinks! a Scooby-Doo reference which is so appropriate because I probably won't finish them before Halloween, and because my fave Halloweeny book is now Dracula, which totally reminds me of a Victorian Scooby-Doo episode.
I say 'prehistoric' because I got this yarn in 2016. On the upside, I might actually squeak under the 10-year threshold if I do finish them in time for Trick or Treating.
(sometimes I fear I will never make it through my yarn stash, and therefore never allow myself to buy more yarn, but maybe it's a bit like children growing up? like, they're tiny for so long and then suddenly they're thirty and considering moving out of your house and you wonder where the years went?)
My arm is still giving me tiny twinges if I knit too long, which is why I haven't made tons of progress on these, but I did tidy up the stack of books and projects beside my favourite chair so that there is nothing to grab but these two socks, each in their separate knitting bag. This still doesn't make me reach for them because mostly when I'm in the fave chair, I am writing, but at the end of the day I take a break to watch some Ann Cleeves mysteries, and then I'm very happy to reach for the needles.
Heartbreakingly: I have now finished *all* of Vera, and *all* of Shetland! I can't seem to settle on anything new, either. I tried a jokey mystery show and couldn't bear it after those long dramatic camera pans over the Shetland coastline.
Speaking of Shetland, the show and the islands, are we talking ultimate sweater showcase or what? I've gotten hooked on more programs over the sweaters in their wardrobe than I care to admit, sigh. It would be good if I found another one like that soon so I could in fact finish these socks.
After last week's Birkenstock excitement I find I don't have that much more to say apart from, these socks will not be seeing the inside of my new black clogs because White Stripe! I live in total fear of dye transfer, I am telling you.
But I am wishing you a lovely weekend, and feeling very grateful you popped by to include me in your day. See you next Saturday!
