A little bit of spinning

The July spinning frenzy continues here at Hugs, and it's paying off - I'm really burning through my stashed roving, turning it into useful, ready-to-go yarn that takes up a ton less space than it did in fluff form.

This colourway is called The Princess and the Pea.  I opted to spin it bulky,

super puff roving and its bulky-spun companion

even though that means I can't quite so mindlessly knit up the handspun with the sport-weight self-striping yarn I bought to match.

I'm thinking I might make myself a super bulky cowl and a sport weight stocking cap, or a super bulky beret and a little neckwarmer thing.  Either way: this colourway has my name all over it.

Well, maybe not as such.  No green!  But I do like it a lot, and I think it will be really cheerful to wear these colours come winter when the season starts to suck all the colour out of the landscape.  In a normal winter I appreciate colour, but last winter, when all the colour really did get sucked away?  Man, did I ever learn my lesson about maximizing colour wherever you can get it.

Hope you have a super colourful day and I'll see you tomorrow - I've got something super cool to show you.

Thanks Julia! the weaving has been a bit of a guilty burden, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it enough to make it a good thing to have taken on ;^)
