Cucumber socks on a winter day

As I was tidying up I realized I never showed off these pictures of my finished Cucumber socks (named for the colours of cucumber and fresh bakery bread, which bore a striking resemblance to the yarn when I made cucumber sandwiches on a break from knitting with it):

They're made with a gorgeous cashmere blend sock yarn from Biscotte.  I love how Louise can dye variegated yarn so you get a lot of colour and no pooling - Silvia at Stoddart can do it too.  It's like having your cake and eating it to get all that gorgeousness without having to jump through fancy-stitch hoops to break it up.

The socks themselves - knit as is coming to be usual with the basic pattern I cobbled together or all my favourite features and fit - are super comfy and long enough in the leg to suit a chilly day.

Though possibly not one as chilly as today.  Brrrr.

See you tomorrow!
