I spent all that time wondering whether my yarn supply would hold out for Man Socks and when they were done, I decided to go back to Me Socks where this isn't likely to be much of an issue because my feet are pretty small. Sensible girl, yes?
But look:
I'm not weighing that little bit of yarn to see whether it's even a third of what I started with, because I am pretty sure it isn't and I don't want to freak out totally while turning this heel.Speaking of which, I guess I'm more snoozy than usual because every time I sit down to work the math for said heel-turning my eyes glaze over. So I'm just faking it and hoping the numbers work out when I get to the leg.

Though really I've already ripped back this heel once and I'm still alive and typing.
Today is rainy and I got all my urgent non-knitty work done yesterday so I'm going to sit right down and wrestle this sock into submission... and then look through the stash for something that doesn't scream at the luscious yarn I'm using.
Because frankly, I suspect I'll need a very long contrasting cuff for these babies before I can get them on and into my boots.

I'm all for faking it- you go Girl!
I can knit a pair of socks for me with a 6" cuff from 250 yards of fingering weight yarn. How much did you have to begin with? You may be able to do it with what you have. However, contrasting cuffs are cool, so it'll work out either way.
It was 278 yards of DK... I've got the foot done, anyway! We'll see how much leg I manage...
