New yarn: arrivals and departures

A really nice braid of roving arrived in the mailbox recently, from the Twisted Fiber Art club I wasn't supposed to join this fall:

I really love the colours and its name - Amsterdam - and I love that it's Polwarth wool, and I hope I don't find myself spinning it like a madwoman so I can knit up one last bulky gift cowl.  It could happen, but it wouldn't be pretty.

I also loved the tiny little sample of  'Candy Floss' from the other colourway stream. Not for me, astonishingly, but for another person I know who would absolutely love this colour combination.

I know, right?  So unusual for me to think of somebody else when I look at yarn, especially when I'm already worn out doing that from necessity because Christmas is so close.  I knew what to do though, and I did it, because at the end of the day that's what I'm about.

Doing what I must, I mean.  Not endless earbud pouches! though that too does seem to be the case...

If only I could transform the Amsterdam into something viable as quickly.  Hope your day has some little victories too and I'll see you tomorrow.
